内容提要
《新中国舞蹈史（1949-2000英译本）》由冯双白所著，本书在大量史料的基础上，分析了1949～2000年中国舞蹈艺术的历史发展轨迹，以重大的舞蹈历史事件作为历史分期的依据，分六章梳理了中华人民共和国之舞蹈艺术在事业概貌、创作收获、舞种沿革、杰出人物、重大组织活动等方面的基本历史现象，并且以整个中国原始舞蹈和封建社会舞蹈的发展为参照坐标，提出了新中国舞蹈是对中国女乐舞蹈文化和民间自娱歌舞文化的革命性转变，其历史本质是建立一种真正意义上的创作艺术，其发展方向是建立21世纪的独立自主的艺术美学表现体系。

作者简介
冯双白，中国艺术研究院研究员、博士生导师、舞蹈批评家、舞剧编剧、大型晚会撰稿人。中国舞蹈家协会常务副主席、分党组书记。
学术性著作有《宋辽金西夏舞蹈史》、《中国现当代舞蹈史纲》、《图说中国古代舞蹈史》、《新中国舞蹈史》等九部。舞剧作品有《风中少林》、《妈勒访天边》、《玉鸟》、《咕哩美》等十余部。学术论文有《青海藏传佛教寺院羌姆及民间祭礼舞蹈研究》、《略谈舞蹈艺术的审美特征》等多篇。
多次获得“国家舞台精品王超剧目”、文化部“文华奖”和中宣部“五个一精神文明奖”、中国舞蹈“荷花奖”舞剧舞蹈诗比赛金奖、中国艺术节第一剧目奖等。多次出访参加国际舞蹈学术活动并发表论文，受到国际学者的关注和好评。
